What is the Summer Institute?
The Summer Institute Program (SIP) is an 8-week program designed to help first-time college students transition successfully from high school to 91勛圖厙. Participants will
take two college courses while engaging in social, cultural, and educational enrichment activities.

Courses Included
ETHN 107 Intro to Ethnic Studies (3 Units)
Explore the histories, cultures, and experiences of diverse communities in the U.S.
with a focus on social justice, identity, and equity. Gain a deeper understanding
of how race, class, gender, and culture shape society.
COUN 120 College & Career Success (3 Units)
Develop essential academic and life skills to thrive in college and beyond! Topics
include goal setting, study techniques, career exploration, time management, and self-advocacy
to ensure a strong start in higher education.

To participate, students must:
